Posted by diamond in : Random , 2 commentsToday i had to get 2 blood samples taken to test for various possible allergies. Went along to st john’s hospital’s free blood clinic as instructed and waited around for about an hour while reading Dive Into Python (great book btw). My number came up, went in, sat down, nurse asked how i was feeling. I replied ‘nervous’. She looked slightly sceptical but continued. Up till this point, i was actually doing rather well. I convinced myself that all it was going to be was a small pinch on the arm and there was nothing that would unsettle me. Wrong. Needle goes in, i immediately start noticing a draining sensation in my left side, and a really unhappy feeling in my stomach. Head back, looking at ceiling, concentrating on breathing. When the nurse had finished, she asked me how i was, to which i replied ‘woozy’. They transferred me to a chair where i could lie back, gave me lots of water, and generally pampered me. After about 5-10 minutes i was steady enough to stand again.

Signed up for the Active Life 150 contract. €35 per month gives me 150 call minutes to any irish mobile or landline, and 100 txt messages. I also picked up a nokia 6020, not because i especailly wanted one, but getting it with the contract cost €49, and if my 6310i died next week it would cost a lot more than that to get a replacement. Meh.
