I’ve just realised that to me, holidays happen. I don’t spend time planning them, i don’t spend time looking forward to them, i usually even forget about them and to give any decent notice to work.
Next monday i fly out to boston for 6 days with some of the skynet crew. Last april i went to milan with my then g/f. Last feburary i went to sweden with 2 guys i live with.
It’s not that i don’t enjoy holidays. I do. I just don’t have the energy to sit down and plan anything further than when and how to get there. So far it’s working out ok, other people are quite happy to do the planning. I guess it’s just a side-effect of being tired. When i get to wherever, i wander around in a daze, sleep lots, and generally relax. In both milan and stockholm i went back to the accomadation on most days to sleep for an hour or two around mid-afternoon so i wouldn’t fall over walking around streets. I look forward to doing the same in boston, though i suspect that might play havock with the schedule.

I’ve just been, um, reminded that i was in scotland on holidays a few months ago too. Same principles applied then too. That is all.
