An attempted bio 2006 August 30 21:44Posted by diamond in : Random , 4 comments
In response to an email i had sent to the irish linux user’s group, the linux gazette contacted me asking if i’d mind if they publised it. I said “Sure, fire away”, and they said “Thanks. Can you send us a brief bio?”. I hadn’t quite expected that, but decided to give it a go anyway. Here’s what i sent to them:
Stephen ‘Captain Pedantic Pants’ Shirley is a quiet student with an appetite for sanely configured, maintainable systems. He was first introduced to linux in 1996 with redhat 4.1, and has since progressed through suse, mandrake and debian, seeking enlightenment. He is now involved in the ubuntu project, and is the head admin of the University of Limerick computer society (skynet.ie). Currently finishing a MSc through research in the aforementioned UL, he’s looking forward to a fulfilling life of bending unix boxen to his will, whilst striking down inaccuracies wherever he finds them.
 It’s always the quiet ones…
The response was:
[laugh] Good attempt, Steve. You’ve been added to the roll of LG authors, and will be credited appropriately when your article is published. Thanks!
So i guess it will do -) Thanks to noirin for her suggestions.
