After 2 months 3 weeks of being homeless, it’s a most wonderful relief to finally have a place to live, and a nice place in a kickass location at that. Oh, and the lease we signed set the rate to €100 below the asking price, which was a nice surprise -)

Good location for non-retardedly life draining commuting, lovely apartment, spacious, 2 large double-bedrooms, rent within budget etc. The only downside was that the lease was only available for 4 months as the landlord was wanting to sell, and was hoping the housing market would pick up again in a few months.
I rang the letting agent and negotiated a out-of-buisness-hours viewing. This was a good sign. Normally the viewing is at a set time, and many lots people turn up. This time it was just us and one other guy. We told the agent we were very interested, faxed all the required references to him this morning as agreed, awaited the phonecall back this afternoon.
When the call came though, i knew immediately from his tone that we were out of luck. It seems the landlord, in the absense of anything else to base his choice on, decided to lease to the couple instead. Gah. 10 weeks after moving up here, still houseless.
